Another drifting off video... of course there were tons of sleepy smiles before I turned on the camera.  Btw, she doesn't poop in this one!

We switched insurance and see a new doctor now.  He's as old as God (for real... like Dr. Denmark (my pediatrician who just died at 114 yrs old)) and he thinks our baby is perfectly fine.  Wahoo!  He said, "I've seen tens of thousands of babies and I don't look at those growth chart things... I can look straight at a baby and tell if they're healthy.  She's fine."  She's 11 lbs even... growing slowly, but no concern.  And she's 23.5 inches long now.

Her rolls are very few and far between.
And I'm in love with YouTube's editing features... I'm amazed at how they can get rid of the wobbliness.

Ew

Never choose a snack when you're sleep deprived... sleep first, then have a snack later... or you'll be uncoordinated and have a tremendous tomato bisque disaster!  I'm still sad about how widespread it was.  Broke a bowl.  Took forever to clean up.  Splattered up walls and on my shoes. Son of a gun!  I just stood and looked at it for a few minutes to try to figure out how to clean it up.  Someday it'll be throw up or poop... and stink really bad.

This huge spider bit the Professor... and it hurt a lot.  Nothing happened, but I took a photo in case he went into anaphylactic shock.  Doesn't it look so evil and spikey?!

9 Weeks
We are SO lucky she sleeps through the night.  This is what she looks like milliseconds before plugging the hole.

Prairie Baby

This is Sugar Booger's Little House on the Prairie night gown.  I. love. it.  Little bows and lace.  I used to love that show.  So kountry and simple and old-fashioned and pretty.  I wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder.  She was brave and adventurous (two things I never was as a child).  She got fruit in her Christmas stocking and so did my family.  We used to warm bricks on our wood burning heater (not to be confused with a fireplace, they're very different), wrap them in a towel and keep them at our feet in the bed.  Stays warm til you fall asleep!  Just like Laura.  Maybe she'll like Laura someday?  Do little girls even know about her and read the books anymore?  <sigh>

2 Months

2 Months

She's 10 lbs 10 oz (26 percentile), 22.25 inches (25 percentile), and 38 cm head (26 percentile).  Not much weight gain from before, oopsy daisies.  I got in trouble for not feeding her enough?  She seems satisfied to me and I thought she was happy to sleep so much.  It could be because of my oversupply.  My milk isn't balanced between foremilk (thirst quenching skim at the beginning, it's 80% water) and hindmilk (fatty mcshake good stuff).  So I'll work on it!  But I won't wake her at night... no sir, we sleep at night time.  Sugar Bear goes back in 2 weeks for a weight check to make sure she's growing well.  But maybe she's just going to be a petite lady?  Or maybe she's burning calories screaming at bedtime and tummy timing and putting weight on her legs all day?  :-)

I really don't like doctors... and I don't like the pressure to try to fit your unique baby into some sort of generic mold.  She's her own person and she's perfect and we have lots of time to catch up.  I wish they had some sort of midwife option for pediatricians.  I'm convinced they're bullies.  They like to make you feel bad and they don't listen.  They try to bully you with their vaccine schedule, when every parent's choice should be respected.  And the stupid weight chart is not fair because babies are humans and every adult is a different shape and size.  And the milestones... I'm totally ignoring that bs!  We play with her, stimulate her, face time, tummy time, all that... you can't force her to learn and develop.  She's reached maybe 5 of the 25 milestones that she was supposed to achieve... apparently, she favors her right side and we need to work on her left side.  The doctor actually told me to work on her interpersonal skills and problem solving... are you kidding me??  My 2-month old is AMAZING at solving problems, just let me give you a few examples... <rolling my eyes>.
